Averie started her career in TV as an NBC Page, learning the network and studio ropes while giving tours and working on THE TONIGHT SHOW. During her time at NBCUniversal, she earned the coveted assignment of Primetime Programming & Studios Development, where THE OFFICE, PARKS & RECREATION, PARENTHOOD, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, and 30 ROCK were in production.
Later, she joined Amy Pascal’s company as a Creative Executive, where she was tasked with creating an entire television department. She started by bringing in BENEATH A SCARLET SKY – the #1 Most Read and #2 Most Bought Book on Amazon in 2016 – and attached Tom Holland to star. She also had the opportunity to work on multiple features including Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN, Aaron Sorkin’s MOLLY’S GAME, Paul Feig’s GHOSTBUSTERS, and Jon Watt’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.
After Pascal Pictures, she went to BOOM! Studios, where she ran television as VP and set up over 20 projects based on their comic and graphic novel library. She was instrumental in selling and developing BOOM!’s first ever television series, JUST BEYOND, which aired on Disney+. She also helped develop and staff MECH CADET, which debuted Top 10 on the platform in October 2023. Other projects at BOOM! included JOYRIDE with Sera Gamble, John McNamara, and David Reed (FX), THE SPIRE with Gemma Holdway (Roku), BUTTERFLY with Arash Amel (Amazon), and BONE PARISH with Akela Cooper (MRC).
She joined Mandy Moore’s production company, Roll With The Punches, as a producing partner in 2020. While there, she built out the slate to include TWIN FLAMES with Rebecca Adelmann (Peacock), and LILI’UOKALANI with Shannon Goss Schwartz and Destin Daniel Cretton (Onyx), MY MOM HAS NO FRIENDS with Monica Corcoran-Harel and Daisy Gardner (20th), GRACE CHURCH with Kim Rosenstock & Rob Rosell (20th); and FALLING FOR DANGER with Melinda Hsu (ABC Signature).
In 2025 she started her own shingle, Humble Sandwich. Her current independent projects include an untitled IVF drama at HBO Max with Mandy Moore and Julia Brownell attached, an untitled reboot at CBS Studios with Cloud 9 Productions, Dana Ledoux Miller and Azie Dungey attached, and the rights to Maakia Lucier’s USA Today and NYT best-selling novel “Dragonfruit,” with Su’a Films and New Leaf Literary, which has Bryson Chun and Keto Shimizu attached, and to Jason Pargin’s USA Today bestselling novel “I’m Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom,” with Rob C.
